Dr. Dana Braner, a volunteer with the non-governmental organization Project HOPE, assisted by Information Systems Technician 2nd Class Sheronda Allen, carries an Indonesian child in respiratory distress from an MH-60S Seahawk helicopter on the flight deck aboard the Military Sealift Command (MSC) hospital ship USNS Mercy (T-AH 19). The child was medically evacuated to the ship from the island of Nias, Indonesia where Mercys medical personnel are conducting humanitarian assistance operations in the wake of the devastating earthquakes that struck the island.
